Wiring subs together

Ok, so I have two 4ohm subs going into a 2 ohm mono amp and I'm pretty sure its going to be wired like this.

The subs I bought have the spring loaded posts on them, my question is do I just, push down the post run the negative to the negative, than put a second negative wire in the second sub to run to the amp?

Alright another question for ya that I'm sure I'm sure has a pretty obvious answer that I already know.

I bought a box to use just until I have the time to build my own and on the inside it has a positive and negative terminal, just wondering how exactly I connect the speaker wires to the box at this point?

I've got a question that has to do with the OP's wiring concern.

Say I have a DVC sub that have the spring connectors and am wanting to wire it parallel, instead of using a wire to connect both positives, a wire to connect both negatives, a wire to connect positive to amp and a wire to connect negative to amp, can I just use one wire starting at one voice coil (-), run it through the other (-) and to the amp and just remove the insulation where the 2nd voice coil is so it would be connected? Then do the same for the (+)?

Does that make any sense at all?

For me, the12volt.com has alot of info that I think is very useful. Its all straight forward things, and they have a whole lot of different calculators and such. It may help you out in the future.

Not to be a wisea$$ but why would you do that?

Because the speaker wire I use is too big to fit it in the terminal twice and I'm afraid that it will come loose and burn up a voice coil. Doing it the other way I wouldn't have to worry about any wires coming loose.

Why don't you buy some smaller gauge speaker wire? I know it's not the answer to your question but maybe I don't understand what you're saying. I assume it's wiring a 4 ohm to 2 ohm or 2 to 1 ohm? Positive to positive and out to the amp. Negative to negative and out to the amp. If you can do it with 2 wires instead of 4 more power to you.... Lol!

Because I would rather not buy more if I don't have to. It's not a big deal either way. I haven't had any problems so far with the wires I have now. It was just a thought that crossed my mind as I was trying to shove the wires into the terminals. Just seems like it would be easier that way. But that's just me.
