hey guys just wondering if it would be better to wire the 4 door speakers to the amp (sub is only thing running from the amp)?

Or is it better to run them straight from the head unit

thanks

the amp is a 4 channel Power Acustik platinum series PAT 450

will this give better sound quality? at a higher level?

thanks guys

They will still play, but they wont get the power the amp is butting out. If your deck is 22w@ 4 ohm, thats what your speakers will get via the HU. As for sounding better from the amp depends alot on tunning and your taste. If you have an external sound processor, then yes, otherwise I would just power them from the HU.

I can't find the specs on your amp so it's hard to say, but any decent amp would give you better sound clarity at higher volumes than the HU.

My question is, it sounds as if your sub is currently running off your 4 channel amp. I don't know how you have your subs wired to the amp, but you can't run a sub and another 4 channels on a 4 channel amp (that's a 5 channel amp). You could bridge 2 channels for the sub and use 2 channels for your fronts and wire your rears to your HU. But you're better off with no rear speakers anyway. Search 'rear fill' here to find out why.

If you do have a 4 channel amp running your subs, you'd be better off getting a mono class D amp for them.
