i have a treo ssx 12, dual 2ohm, and a sundown saz3000.. what is the best way to wire this (what ohm)? im a total noob to this so any help is useful

these are your 2 wiring options.

if you go with a 1 ohm load you would have to turn down the gains to about half. idk how underrated TREO is but that sundown is def. doing more than 3000w

the 1 ohm will give you the power youre looking for but you'll have to turn down the gains a decent amount

if you have a DMM you can set it using that. theres a thread about it somewhere on here

if not, you turn up the gain slowly and listen for any distortion coming from the subs. when you start hearing distortion, or the subs are coming close to their limits, then you back off a bit.

of course, you dont want to run them at that kind of power for at least a few days. give the subs some time to break in, let the suspension loosen up, etc.

what is the pre-out voltage on the hu.

and you also have to remember that the upgraded soft parts will bring up the power handling and treo is quite a bit under rated.

if its 2ch its a different story. idk if it can handle 1ohms bridged

the saz 3k is not a 2 channel amp, it is mono. there are 2 sets of speaker terminals but they are connected in parallel inside the amp, this is the 4th or 5th time i have heard this lately, i thought it was common sense, guess i was wrong.
