I am looking to install two alpine type-r's in a BMW 128i. I'm thinking of pushing them at 1 ohm with a sundown 1200d but im worried about whether or not my car's electrical system will be able to handle it fine. My buddy installed two kicker l7's in his 2008 mustang and his lights are dimming running them at half power. Some people said i might have to do the "Big 3" upgrade so i want to know how difficult that would be since my battery is in the trunk and if i upgrade the wiring does that require me to get a stronger battery? secondly would just getting a yellow top or red top battery be sufficient? Or should my car be able to handle the sub how it is?

1) first install the subs

if dimming follows,

2) do the big 3

if dimming still occurs

3) upgrade battery

if dimming STILL occurs

4) get an additional battery

if all else fails

5) upgrade to HO alternator

See steps 1 and 2, that should be all you have to do
