everything works now, but i get a turn on thump. is there any way to get rid of that?

where exactly did you hook your remote wire to? i had mine hooked to my fuse panel and it thumped as well so i spliced it into the ignition controlled wire going to my headunit..the red wire behind the deck..and the problem went away.

i took a speaker wire and ran it from the red 12v wire on my hu to my remote terminal on my amp

hmmmm that should be right....does your amp have a soft start feature? what amp is it?

would it be possible for me to add a switch in between the connection of the red wire and the amp itself? kinf od like an extra switch taht i can buy at radio shack...and then flip the switch to manually turn on and off the amp? or is there an easier fix? i've tried my remote wire on my hu, but it doesnt seem to work.

haha forget it. i just figured out that my friend who helped me connect my wiring harness to the hu's wires didnt connect the remote amp one. so basically the one i connected it to in the beginning wasnt even connected to anything, so i just connected it directly to the hu's remote amp wire and now it works perfect, no on off thump or anything. good thing cuz that shit was annoying. thanks for everyones help.
