I have 2 options for my setup and not sure which route to go. I have a 2004 civic coupe and have my JL 300/4 amp under the passenger seat running my speakers in my sig. I also have the memphis 500w amp I need to connect soon and not sure what way is better. Should I mount the memphis under my drivers seat and run 4 guage wire from a distro block to it (about 2 feet) and do 12ga wire to the trunk for the sub (about 6 feet) or should I run 6 feet of 4ga from a distro by the JL amp under the seat and mount the memphis in the trunk closer to the sub? Thanks

Dave

Whichever is easier for you to do.
Thanks sooo much for the help. Im sure one is better than the other--is running 5feet of speaker wire to the sub better than running 5 feet of 4ga to the amp in the trunk? This is all I am asking

Dave

Connect the memphis under the driver seat because your going to have to ground the memphis at the same place where you grounded the JL auido amp. If you ground the amps in different places than you will have a ground looping effect in your music. When you connecting more than one amp, you have to ground all of the amps no more than 1 in away from each other.

Not always.

It can happend but as long as you measure resistance at the ground point and get it as close to 0 as possible, you should have no problems.

Well the JL ground is to the passenger seat hole--So should I run the ground wire from the Memphis under the drivers seat to the passenger seat side? Thanks

Dave

Sorry buddy in taking so long to respond...college and work. Yes, run the ground from the memphis amp to passenger seat(where its grounded). Try to make the ground cable as short as possible. The longer the cable the more chances you will receive noises to your system.

Thanks man, I should be installing next week--the ground for memphis will be about 2 1/2 ft of 4 gauge
