Wiring from amp to sub help!!

i have a sony xplode 1200 watt amp http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/amplifiers/XM-2002GTR and a alpine type R (4ohm + 4ohm) sub http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=SWR-1242D

i need help on how to wire from the amp to the sub because all the diagrams ive seen are for a 8ohm amp going through both the 4ohm ports of the sub.. but my amp is 4ohm? idk please help

is your amp not 2 ohm stable? you can wire that sub either 2ohms or 8 ohms

i looked on the amps site and it says its 4ohms or w/e.. and the diagrams only show 2ohm and 8ohm.. does this mean my amp wont work?

so u have a dual 4 it looks like, cuz yer sayin 4ohm + 4ohm so i guessing its a dual 4. u can only get 8 ohm or 2 ohm load from that sub and u want a 4 ohm load so u can get the bridge mono from the amp i take it. but yer gonna need 2 dual 4s to get a 4 ohm load.

or you can get a dual 2 sub and that would get you a 4 ohm impedance

as for getting full power the amp wont work. i dont know if id go lower than 4 ohms on that mono channel but 8 ohms wont hurt it just be more resistance and give ya less power to the sub

so i would need two subs for it to work? or can i use the 2ohm setup
