the shorter the better. shorter wires allows more current to reach the amp. you lose current as it travels back

well what if too much current went to the amp would it hurt the amp? would the fuse only let so much current go through?

the only way 2 much current hurts is if you runnung higher volts like 16 & up

and that would depend on if your amp is able to take 16v
