I'm pretty green at all of this, so be patient with me.
I'm putting a sub in the trunk. My son is giving me a JLW3v3 4 ohm subwoofer.
I'm planning to use a Pioneer GM-D8701 amp. The output of the amp at 4 ohms is 300 watts RMS, or at 2 ohms it's 500 watts RMS.
Can I comfortably use a #8 awg wiring kit, or should I use a #4 awg kit?
Also, if you were installing a sub, would you install an independent, dash mounted bass volume control? And if so, which one would you use?

Thanks........Dave

Thank you.
I suspected that #8 would be good, but hearing it from someone else is good too. And actually I just noticed in the amplifier spec., that it comes with a remote (dash-mount) bass boost control. So I think I'm good to go.
