alright, i plan on buying a kicker kx1200.1 and wanted to know if i needed to upgrade my wire, i currently have 4ga ran but didnt know if i should up it to 2ga or 1/0??

You'd probably be OK with 4awg but if you plan at all to run extra amps later, go ahead and run 1/0...

4 ga will do the trick, but it wouldn't hurt to go 2 ga. 1/0 would probably be overkill. I am switching to 1/0 so I will be able to split it into 2 4 ga when I add a speaker amp, so if you plan to do something similar, you'll want 1/0 ga

I say stick with the 4 gauge. But upgrading to 2 guage wouldnt be a bad idea

Never a problem to have too large a wire, really. Better to have more than not enough, y'know?
