Wire Gauge Question

I saw on steve meades install he had his Stinger Voltage Meter on his windshield... And just ran his wires through the headliner of the car and through the A pillars.. or wherever.

My question is, if i have to run a Pos/Neg/Rem all the way to the amps in the back seat... Id imagine at least 10 feet of wire... What gauge would be sufficient enough to tell me voltage. I dont want to loose any by doing too small of wire. But id obviously have to extend its original wire, which is like 20 gauge or something.

Thanks for any input

If you're talking about wiring just a volt meter, then use whatever size wire its leads are built with. The internal resistance of the volt meter's circuitry will be much higher than that of the wire you're using anyway, so voltage drop due to the wire length/size will not be a problem.
