Looking at getting a new battery soon and it's too big to fit in the engine bay so I'm looking at putting it around the back. I'm not going to be drawing more than 1000watts RMS so would 2 Gauge be enough to connect the positive wire through the car? Could 4 Gauge work?
Should be about 5 metres going from front to back (16ft).
This will be the starting battery as well, it's the only batt in the car. The battery I'm using now is only 330CCA and the one I'm looking at is 1000CCA. So the car probably starts on around 2-300.
I'll be connecting the ground to a bolt in the trunk, as the starter motor is also grounded to the frame I assume that should be fine.
This guide suggests 4 gauge wire so would that suffice?

I have about 6 metres of 4 gauge on me but I'd have to go buy 2 gauge if i need it so I'd prefer to use 4awg
Cheers.
