i will be powering a 400wRMS dual 2ohm VC Pioneer sub (ts-w307d2) with the

KENWOOD KAC 6203 2 CHANNEL 600W which gives 300WRMS at 4ohms.

my question is: will it sound good or will the subwoofer run weak since its RMSwatts are not matched????

honestly, what do you think

thanks

WTF is correct sound? Most systems I listen to sound like azz, overpowered sub stage , screaming tweeters. Take a look at the amps and gains are maxed is this correct? Something that sounds good to me , may sound like shit to you. Best bet is to put the sub in its rec. box and power it with what you have. 300 watts will get some good movement from most subs. Good Luck.

thanks for the feedback

im going ported for this sub, so nobody thinks it will be underpowered (i.e 100w less)?? will this make a huge difference?

cheers

thanks, so ill give you the quick specs:

AMP - KENWOOD KAC 6203:

Load Capability 2Ω Stable

Maximum Output Power 600W

Rated Power Output 100W x 2 (4Ω)

Rated Power Output 150W x 2 (2Ω)

Bridged Power Output (4Ω) 300W x 1

SUB - Pioneer TS-W307D2:

Maximum input power 1.200 W

Nominal input power 400 W

Frequency response 18 - 500 Hz

Sensitivity (1W/1m) 89 dB

Woofer size (cm) 30 cm

Woofer material Composite IMPP™ cone using Interlaced Aramid Fibre

Voice Coil bobbin type Phenol resin coated glass cloth bobbin

Magnets Double-stacked

Recommended sealed enclosure (Litres) 24 - 49,6 litres

It says: 2Ω C-Type Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer...offers you a variety of set-up possibilities (4Ω or 1Ω), provided that there is correct power matching between the subwoofer and your amplifier.

Are the sub and amp matched correctly or need to find different amp???

thanks

also which is the best way to connect the kenwood amp with the pioneer sub:

A) giving it 150 Watts x 2 (2 ohms) RMS (that is 150WRMS to each VC at 2ohms)

B) or by bridging at 4ohms giving it 300WRMS ???

thanks
