Hey, i'm new to this type of stuff and just wanted to see if someone could tell me if this setup will work and what would be the best way to hook it up...I already have these subs and the amp they were given to me so im not going to buy any other ones.

prob single 4 it will work and if you can stay above 14.2 volts the JL Audio G1700 or JL Audio A1400 will do

now i am willing to buy another amplifier if this one isnt the best for my subs...i would like to stick with jl audio brand...any suggestions?

I suggest not going with JL if you buy another amp. theres better out there for the money

Your subs are SVC4 and each want 300 watts. Your amp does 600 watts at 2 ohms. Wire your subs like this:

Then just make sure you read up on how to properly set up the gain and other settings on the amp. No reason to buy any new equipment, thus will work nicely.
