i'm looking at doing 4 kicker 12L5's in my VW Jetta with 13cu.ft of room in my trunk. they'll be powered by the kicker 2500.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif and there will most likely be power caps and/or a yellow top or two. will all that sh!t fit in my trunk? i'm gonna do 2subs in the middle and 2 angled next to them

You might have to get a little creative but I would imagine they should fit.

sealed or ported? ported would be nice if you can build the box. i plotted 4 L5s @ 11 cubes (to give you room for port) and 33 hz and it looks sweet.. and oh yeah.. plan on it being VERY loud.

thanks guys. atleast i know it's possible now and Andon...how did you have to go about getting it all installed power wise. power caps, etc.? i cant touch my alternator to put in a high output so i'm a bit lost on what i should do for it all.

oh no dont get it confused.. i didnt build this setup.. i just mapped it out on winISD.. a subwoofer box program that kinda gives you a rough estimate of response and output.

youll need 2000 watts for it to sound good in my opinion.. and that might be pretty tough on a stock altternator. what model VW? do you knwo the size of your current alternator? do you think even though its on warranty could you still upgrade the underhood wires to at least 4 guage (battery to alt, grounds on block and chassis)?

can you upgrade your battery? a yellow or red top optima would be almost essential. i dont have enough experience to tell you if it would actually work or not though..

a couple L5 15s would get close to as loud off less power in a big box liek that if you can fit them. it might be a better option if you cant upgrade the alt.

thanks man..i'm not sure what i'm really allowed to do but supposedly theres a federal act saying that if something in the car breaks they have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt it was the aftermarket parts fault. i'm assuming i could upgrade the battery to a yellow top and could upgrade the wires. how much would those things run me?

couldnt i also have one or two yellow tops in the trunk for power?

i'm almost positive i cant upgrade the alt unfortunately. i've got a Jetta GLX VR6 with the Monsoon 8 speaker sound system. someone told me with two yellow tops, new wiring and about a 5 farad cap i could prob pull this off with stock alt
