the EV1 was 10 years too early, gas was cheap. I do think big oil saw it as a threat though.

:edit: found it, supposedly it will release Nov 2010

imagine how many back yard mechanics will be killed working on their vehicles...... Mechanics are issued special gloves to work on the new hybrids with in an attempt to save their lives. Theres some SERIOUS voltage in these things

Terrible idea for a car, car comps are still wasting money on gasoline cars. Should be looking for another energy source rather then using gas. we can make the most amazing bombs and guns but we cant find an ALT fuel? government just makin money.

CURE FOR BREAST CANCER FTMFW |(.) . |

I am Legend tried to cure cancer. Look how that turned out.

never gonna happen.

x2. It looks great, on paper and the prototype, but, the is exactly why it wont come out. The only way I see it coming out is as a novetly car costing somewhere between 40-60 that most people will not be able to reach.

chevy=Introducing a new kind of electric vehicle — Concept Chevy Volt. It’s unlike any previous EV (electric vehicle), thanks to its innovative rechargeable electric drive system and range-extending power source. It can be configured to run on electricity, gasoline, E85 or biodiesel. So you have at least a couple of options for the most efficient drive — all made possible by GM’s innovative E-Flex Propulsion System.
i am interested in that though.

um, voltage isnt what you should be afraid of...and 144v isnt that much to begin with.

I guess my electric personality will come shinning through then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I can see them producing it, letting people drive them on a 2-4 year lease, then killing it discreetly like they did with the EV1. I do like the fact it can run on bio-diesel. Should give it phenomenal fuel mileage for extended trips.

Although, I find it highly suspicious that some of these so called hybrid economy sized cars are getting the same (or worse) fuel mileage as gasoline economy cars did a couple/few decades ago. I had a little 1988 5 speed Ford Escort EXP that consistently provided over 40mpg on the highway. Now, 20 years later, economy cars that get around 29-35mpg hwy are dubbed FEV's? Hmmmmm..... bullshit.
