bla bla bla. i work on FA-18E Superhornets.

the end of this conversation is at hand. no math.

just because wheels can spin, does not mean the plane will fly. just because the engines are at full throttle (if conveyor belt is running under the wheels) does not mean the plane will move.

who ever thought this whole expierement up - must be the prodigy of a special olympic failure.

OK now I am more confused. He just threw the math out of this problem so I don't even know which way is up now. Next he is gonna take our crayons away too.
and conincidintly, thats exactly where this thread is heading/is.

I couldn't understand what the hell you were talking about with a treadmill and plane. I was like hmm.. Lift = Take off... not rpm.

Think about a car and a dyno. same principle, except a car doesnt have wings. and if the car is standing still, the wings are irrelevant.

not the same priciple, cars are driven by wheels, planes are not. if you wanted to compare a car on a dyno to a plane on a treadmill, put only the rear wheels (of a FWD car) on the dyno, then try to drive forward, what happens.....the car moves forward, because the rear wheels are free spinning. On a plane all the wheels are free spinning. They have nothing to do with the movement of the plane.

lol a really big treadmill?

Only helicopters can take off without moving right? Unless they can create lift another way.

So... survey says....

im not sure if you are serious or not. Did you watch the videos?

If you wear rollerblades and get on a treadmill and there is a rope tied to a tree, could you pull yourself towards the tree, using the rope? Or would you stay stationary?
