thats the only thing im worried about, they might mess it all up. However, it has to have already been filmed if its coming out Wednesday I just wanna know how they made a runway long treadmill.

heh, that would be interesting.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I had to keep this one quoted. you seemed really upset.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gif its basically a riddle to **** your thinking up, but once you get passed that, its clear.

its been done 100 times. :youtube:

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif the wright brothers probly had this same arguement. Except, without the treadmill.

On the last page....
I think Orval Wright would ***** slap you for saying that... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Logic...

If the plane turns engines on...the wheels have no power. Therefor the can turn the speed of the conveyer and still move faster as teh thrust of the plane moves it forward. The only time this poses where the plane looks like it might not be able to take off would be upon start up where if the conveyer moves the plan backward faster then the thrust can keep it stationary.

Again, this would only be for a limited amount of time before the trust overtakes the weight of the plane.

I voted Yes, it will take off.

I think we have two arguments going on here.
The people saying that everyone here are idiots are looking at it one way, while others who say it won't take off are looking at it another way.

Squeak, tama, njizzum, etc. are looking at it like this: The plane is able to move forward on the treadmill because the wheels aren't driven. The plane can move forward relative to the GROUND, generate enough air speed (and thus lift) and take off. This is pretty obvious.

Others in this thread are looking at it like this: The plane is completely stationary relative to the ground. The treadmill is moving at 150 mph backwards and the plane is only throttled up enough to keep the plane in the same position relative to the ground. Thus, no air speed (and no lift) is generated.

Bottom line is that we'll have to wait until the episode to see EXACTLY what they are trying to prove here.
Im in the 2nd group here btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
