Will my voltage be ok?

I want to know if my amp will have enough current going to it or will i have to take further steps into my electrical?

My amp is a SAX-1200 gonna be ran at 1 ohm pushing 2 SA-10's.

I have stock alt(2006) that i believe is 90amps. I will be doing big 3 in 0awg Cadence wire and will be running 0awg wire throughout, also Cadence. I will also have a Kinentik HC600 in the back. Will this be enough current for my Sundown?

Also, what if i were to get a smaller amp later on for my mids and highs would i have to add any electrical then?

Thanks for the help

No one will really know until you try and do it yourself. Get a DMM and see how low the drop is. It's best to stay above battery resting voltage. Your probably not going to be able to go full tilt at idle much though, only when driving. People will tell you to buy a new alt, 2 more batteries and such, then after you spend 1,000$ on that stuff, you could realize you only need 1 extra battery. (Just an example).

hard to say with a 90 amp alt you will be pulling more than 90 amps at full tilt, if its music you might get away with it and the big 3 will no dought help, but you will most likely kill your current alt and have to buy an ho alt eventually.

you should be fine for the most part op, those amps dont need a lot of current, but it may be a good idea to get a little strong battery for the back and a better one for upfront as well. 2 of the hc1400s or the xs d2700s should set you up.

Without considering the battery, and say the 1200@1 is of peak power, then you should be fine and will likely be below 30amp draw on that configuration. With the average efficiency of the amplifier and average draw from the electrical system, you will be able to run that ok. If the amp is 1200 rms, then I would not recommend trying to push it as it may require more current than the amp can handle. Best bet without knowing anything else is, do the big three, so you get the most out of the charging system, or get another alt with higher current.

As it was mentioned before though, measure the VD as well so you can get a general idea of what it does. Usually, between a 0-.3V drop is optimal. Some can get away with a full volt. As 13V is used as a nominal voltage for most drycells as an example.

It depends greatly on your musical tastes and listening habits as well as how hard you'll actually be pushing the amp. Hard to say without doing it and seeing what you get. Roll with what you have and upgrade if needed.

At what voltage drop should i consider adding another battery or alternator??

Can a Kinentik battery be used as an under the hood battery? If so how is this set-up: Big 3 and all wires 0awg, stock alt, Kinentik 1400 under the hood, and Kinentik HC600 in the back.

the big 3 will be done and all wiring throughout my system will be 0awg. My amp states that it is 1200@1 RMS. Idk what my peak is.
Regardless, what I figure for is max output, so if you do not push the amp above, say around 28V to be safe, you will be ok. That is about 70% of the 1200 watts, which is a good estimate. You can push those sa10s with 28V ok. For what you have, its acceptable. If you want more later, you know you can upgrade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm sure that will suffice for 1200rms rating no problem. Remember though, you have to consider your front amp if you have one, and any other current draw in the system. But yes, that should be fine for what you have.

at 28V wouldnt i only be getting around 800W's?? That wouldn't push the subs very well
