Will my Lexus SC300 EVER get good bass

since your not using a very large sub you should come up with a low profile in-cabin location for it (rear deck, dash, center console, rear seat side panels, etc). trunk installs are just so uninspired //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/boring.gif.42c69fa49b1e73e6332d62b462a2a4b3.gif

I would but the subs magnet is about 2in from the gas tank. Check out this site it has pics on the sc300 and the gas tank

So between that wall of the trunk and the cabin there's a gas tank? Also is there a rear deck? Solid or some holes?
If the trunk is completely separated from the cabin by like a foot of gas tank you'll probably hear more trunk rattle than bass inside throwing a sub in there.
There are no holes, but if I remove the sub off the rear deck, then yes there will be a hole (a 10-11" hole). This hole will be the only air space between the cab and the trunk... check out this site for more pics there sub set up is similar to mine..

bandpass ported through the hole after you pull factory sub may be an option.

Yes the sub is located on the rear deck...
I would definitely start looking into subs that work well in an IB environment that also fit that depth. The reason that you W0 sounds so bad is because it's intended for a box rather than infinite baffle. As you increase the volume(and power), the sub you're using is having a harder and harder time controlling its movements.

It's not the stock location that's the problem, it's the sub you're using; and because the trunk is completely sealed already, your car is ready for a good IB setup.

okay, what speaker company would you recomend?

Ok, I worked directly with an SC300. You can get bass out of the trunk, you need to take that sub out though. The back seat is 100% solid with no air flow. We did 2 12's in a very small box and they performed well. It took up the whole trunk though. Subs/ports up.

Thanks! What 12's did you use. Like I said I dont want to slpuge on subs if they aren't going to make a HUGE difference...
