Now i dont know if anyone has done work on a T-Bird but Mikey B but there is almost no way you should damage a break light switch and said they would not pay for it. i have more if u want them

Are you serious? Do you think I'd have gone to BestBuy if I knew enough about this subject to assess the competence of an installer on sight?

Thats what kind of sucks with most of the car audio shops out there. An un-educated consumer is at risk most of the time when dealing with any shop. Its pretty sad really. but I mean, should you have to know how to work the grill at mcD's when your getting your big-mack on?

Question: should I turn off the built-in amp on my head unit? It's a double DIN Pioneer Premier one with Bluetooth. I turned it off a minute ago and I /think/ it sounds better, but it could be the placebo effect.

I doubt the amp would have an affect if it's not wired up.

It's a separate component from the actual processor - just built alongside it, afaik.

you spent two days posting on here before the install plenty of time to ask us what questions to ask to determine is competence....And im sure you thought about this particular subject previously when you were picking out your equipment plenty of time to take a few mins and learn what an installer should know; that is unless you are incapable of learning anything which is the way you make it seem....either way in this case this matters not because the problem was not his fault and from the looks of things he did a decent job however he did handle the situation poorly.

x2 but we live and we learn, things could have been worse liek the installer actually messing something up or scratching his dash or breaking a interior panel

From what I've heard from some of the more intelligent members here, what happens with the break-in is the suspension loosens up - and that happens faster the louder it's played.

I don't know this personally - but I read a discussion on it a few days ago. Which would mean you can crank it all you want - and it should just sound slightly better the more its played.
