Will I regret getting my system installed at Best Buy?

I really wasn't angry about the issue with the speaker. I understand mistakes can happen. But when I showed up the guy's kid and girlfriend were in the install bay talking to him, while he was working on my truck, on my time. Then when I confronted him about the problem, he blew me off and wouldn't do it, even though by his own admission it would have taken "five minutes" (his words). Anyone who has any pride in their work would have just done it rather than leave a job unfinished, surely?

Sup guys. I'm in SW Florida and I've exhausted the short list of local car audio shops here. There's only one in town that does custom installations of equipment bought elsewhere, but I already stormed out of there after being completely scammed.
I have a pair of component speakers, a 4 channel amp, mono amp and enclosed sub to install in my '08 Nissan Pathfinder. I'm not looking for anything crazy or elaborate; I just want a clean, working installation with no wires sticking out anywhere. I have an appointment with the local BestBuy on Sunday to do the install for around $350. The system cost about $2200 on Crutchfield, so that's a price I'm happy to pay (doing it myself is not an option - I am totally clueless about electronics/any kind of DIY).

The guy doing my install seems okay, but what do I know? He's not a teenager, at least, and doesn't seem like an idiot. Should I be alright? The sub is a JL Audio 10" W7, two Alpine amps and two pairs of Alpine components (SPX-13REFs for the front doors and SPR-13Ss for the rear).

I'm in Naples specifically, so on the off chance anyone is from around here and knows anywhere, please let me know. Thanks.
for once i wished i lived in FL. i could install that.

Got the truck back. Everything is fine aside from the left rear door; neither the speaker nor the tweeter is functioning properly. There's a faint hissing noise but nothing else coming out of either of them.
Just wait until you find out that one of the BB employees accidentally installed his Python or Boa in your door, hence the hissing sound:D

You just better pray it isn't a Pit Viper, Cobra, or Black Mamba!

Want to know why.. I bet he has off tomorrow lol!!

LOL at this thread... when I was an audio noob, i took my brand new $500 headunit to Circuit City, and they blew it up. I demanded to talk to a manager, they said "we don't know if it worked when you gave us the headunit".

They refused to take responsibility, and I walked out yelling and screaming "you assholes".

JVC, thank god, replaced it, but still....

I'll NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take my car to BB or CC for installs. Of course I do my own now...

yup i have seen that time and time again. They just dont quite grasp that the power wire and RCA wires need to be on opposite sides of the car.
I can't believe people still believe this. Running power wires and RCAs on the same side of the car or even zip tied together is not a problem. The chassis carries the same current that the power wire carries...

why create more distortion than is needed in the RCA's?

I think the issue with my speaker is basically what we had with our home cinema setup with one of the rear speakers; it turned out we just needed to strip about an inch of wire back and re-do the connections. You guys reckon it's the same with my car speakers? I can't be ****ed if they have to re-do the whole thing...
