Do the bypass on my AVIC-D3? I am thinking about getting it installed there, but I want it to be bypassed? I know its illegal and all, but will they do it if I ask them?

And if they wont, how difficult is it to remove the unit once it is installed and bypass it myself?

No they wont, too many possible legal ramifications if they do. Maybe one their installers will do it on the side for you, but best buy wouldn't approve. And it's failry simple to do on your own. It's designed as a safety feature, if they bypass it, they may be held responible if you got into an accident etc... Also I don't know how well pioneer would take it that one of their distibutors is messing with their product.

I posted a whole thread on how to do the bypass for the D3 on this site. Very simple to do.
I've seen that. But they were talking about the dash kit that has to be mounted to the unit before they install it, and I dont want to damage anything that I Dont have to. SO how difficult would it be to take it out after the dash kit is installed?

If you are not capable of installing it yourself, than I would not recommend trying to by-pass the unit. Your best bet is to ask them if they will do it and if not find a shop that will. Im sure it wont be hard to find a shop that will do it for you.

I do not know if I am incapable, because I have never tried. I want it to be done, and I was just wondering how difficult it would be to get out once it has been installed.

Find a CC or something like that in your area and have them price match for the free install and see if they will bypass, i know my location does bypass everyunit we send out the door, but all are different. If not just do the bypass yourself as i recall its a simple pulling a pin out of the harness and moving it down. Then get it installed after thr bypass is done.
