Would I be better off bypassing it myself and then having them install it?

Would they still ground both of those wires even if the mute wire wasnt moved to the different pin?

It's a big leagal area. If you kill someone because TV was more important than driving then you will be sued and so will the shop that bypassed the safety wire.

They installed it today. He did bypass it for me. He didnt even know how to do it though. I told him about moving the mute wire and that I had already done it, and I asked him to ground the mute and parking brake wires. He did it for me even though he acted like he wasnt going to.

I think he was just happy that he knows how to do it now.

He probably did it because then he wouldnt have to tag the parking brake wire. Saved him about ten minutes.
