Will adding a 20 farad capacitor help keep my power wire from getting hot

Ever since I got my new speakers my amps really been drawing a lot of power I have the subs wired for 2 ohm. My amp is planet audio torque 5000 watt with 1800 rms I have a second matching amp I want to add will adding a 20 farad capacitor help keep my power wire from getting warm I had a problem with the wire melting down at the battary but replaced it with thicker wire I'm running 4 gauge wire it's way thicker then what I can put into the clamping part of the amp I just ordered some reducer's i was going to get a second battary but decided the capacitor would be enough I hope it is any help would be great. Thanks

No, anything lower than 100+ farads will be mostly useless. copper wire or oversized cca with higher quality fuse blocks and tight connections will solve your problem.

You're probably clipping the shit out of the planet audio "5000 watt" amp thinking you're getting 5000w when you're actually getting 500w

What does the rest of your electrical system look like?

Might be shit wire that you have too since all wire isn't all the same. Enaduqate wire gauge will at times cause power wire to get warm/hot.

Bad voltage. Gain too high turned up, bass boost on amp cranked up. Turn that shit down if it is. It induces clipping and will destroy your audio.

Running too low of an ohm load from the amp to the subs. And sometimes the amps don't like it and shut off. Others will keep going. Thermal protection circuitry isn't in every amp.

Yeah upgrade your power/ground to at very least 1/0 gauge wire. And then get a reducer so it'll fit into that shitty amp lol. Adding another one if those are like stacking shit on top of shit. I got a skar rp-2000.1d and it's budget friendly. Gives true 2000 watts rms wired to 1 ohm. I got double 1/0 power/ground going into that *****! And runs smooth. If your power isnt pushing fast enough to the amp, then ur amp is pulling power faster than the power is pushing... Which isn't good. So, just add another lol.
