Will a 130A Alternator be enough?????

Okay, I have an Alpine 4.150 and I am looking at purchasing a sub amp but I want to make sure I don’t run into any electrical problems. I currently have 2 RE Sr 10s in a ported box. The amps that I am interested in are the following: US Amp MD-1D, RF T1500.1BD, and a Alpine 1.1000.

My electrical is currently stock and my stock alternator is 130A. I have done the Big 3 and the active tuning grounding kit install. All with 4 AWG wire. I also have installed the Kicker 1/0 AWG dual amp kit for my amps.

My question to the forum is will this be enough to run any of the above amps with out killing my Duralast battery or having bad dimming lights? I am really leaning towards the RF amp because I am planning on going with more subs in the future.

I would have done my big 3 in 1/0 wire.

WHy is it that you decided against the Sundown 1000D. It would have been great for your application. The Alpine is not 1 ohm stable

I say wire it up, test it for dimming at full tilt. If you see the lights dimming, add a battery and do your big 3 in 1/0

I can still do my Big 3 in 1/0 wire, buut since I had 4 awg wire I just used that instead. As for the Sundown 1000d I just didn't understand it. My lost someone elses gain. I understand that the Alpine isn't 1 ohm stable but my subs are dual 4 so I could wire them down to 4 ohms at the end.

Thanks for your input bro.

IMO big 3 in 4ga is prly plenty and with a 130amp alt and a half way decent battery u should be fine, might have some dimming at full tilt but nothing to worry about
