will 16 gauge wire work?

I am hooking up one 4ohm dvc sub to my Memphis amp to run at 2ohm mono.

It will get approx 600 watts.

I can't get 12 gauge to fit into the terminals on the sub where you have two inserting at.

Will I get good results from using 16 gauge all the way around (from the amps to both of the voice coils)? Or should I go bigger.

Thanks

It is my brand new AA Arsenal 12".

It has the push type terminals.

Unsure of how to get two pieces of 12g to fit through the terminal hole.

If 16 is too small, I will use 14g. 14g doubled at the one terminal is about an 11g size, so I guess that would be ok.

Any suggestions.

What I suggest is ghetto rigging an 8 gauge wire by wrapping it around each terminal and using a combination of hot glue and electrical tape to keep it on. That way, you can huff the glue while you jam...

no but seriously, just solder a 12 gauge wire to the terminal and later just use the soldering gun to remelt the solder to remove it, it's a hassel, but it would work.
