This whole thing got started with the sale of a questionable product. Whether it worked when you saw it last or not notwithstanding it didn't work when it arrived at KingDiamond's place. There are multiple threads containing Chinny's postings regarding the intermittent issues he himself had experienced prior to ever selling them. After KingDiamond received them in unusable condition (which is what I would consider any audio product that did not operate as new) and wanted a refund all Chinny could say about it was "They were working and you can ask Raisedin305 about it!"
I have no beef with you or with Chinny. It doesn't affect me so all in all, I don't really care. At the end of the day, however, right is right and wrong is wrong. Had Chinny but manned up and said something to the effect of "Man, I'm really sorry. I'll get a refund to you ASAP if you'll send me the components back," that would have been the end of it and everyone would've called it a day.

That didn't happen.

Chinny wanted to piss and moan about having essentially shipped out a perfect product and because of that he was washing his hands of it.

Let's use WalMart for an example. You go to WalMart to buy...whatever...a widget. And when you get back to where the widgets are you find the one you want at a price that agrees with you and you pick it up without opening the package 'cause it's a reasonable assumption that there's nothing wrong with it. But when you get it home it doesn't work at all. When you go back for your refund are you going to be swayed one bit by the stock-boy's argument that it worked when he put it on the shelf and his other stock-boy friend can verify that? Nope - you're not going to care one freggin bit.

This began by a consumer's beef with a seller. It escalated to the forum-wide reaction due to the way Chinny handled things, his reactions to people trying to guide him to simply do the right thing, and a repeated denial of any culpability in the first place when it was easily shown that he was in the wrong.

And by continually defending his actions it only serves to make you look that much more foolish as well.

I agree if the item arrived DOA then he should be refunded.

wrongo. i had to sell my amps to pay for the extra 100 what whateva for the 2500d. then ya said you couldnt get the 2500 anymore cuz you got in a fight with the guy who was gonna get it for you.

that would **** cause then when you ban his school address you just banned 40,000+ people from accessing the site, because all the schools go out 1 address. and his home address is probably on bellsouth which is dynamic so you would be randomly banning other people as they refresh their ips.

as far as the whole chinny ban.....i just found out about it in aim chat last night

and i got flammed for not knowing...but to be honest...chinny cool in my book but what ever he did to get banned he must have deserved it
