I've been working as a civillian in the army for a few years now so I might know a thing or 3.
Most Army soldiers are just doing their gig, may not be highly educated but mostly ok people. Its the 4-5% that are total ****tards that make it seem worse than it is. However, I do know of gangs in the military and more notably huge southern posts like Fort Hood.

There is some very bad apples in all branches for sure. I have been enlisted for almost eight years now. The problem is that recruiters are recruiting in some places where some of the people have no hope of becoming anything without the military. The Navy is downsizing now and trying to rid itself of bad apples by kicking people out who do not advance in a certain timeframe and who have low performance evals.

i still respect the military for what they do but i know that i could do the exact same thing they do with ease, but i doubt they could come take the same classes that i take in college..in my high school graduating class the only ones to go to the military were in the bottom 10% of the class and i know that for a fact

You can argue the affect of basically being raised to be Militant in areas such as Academics...but the millitary in this case, is the cause not the effect...make sense yet?

The point is...in Spartan society men where trained to be soldiers from the time they where young that is the only way of life they where shown....that is why the military was so strong...you train for anything your entire life you should be good at it....
