I haven't even bought mine yet lol.

12 credit hours.. im guessing about 500 bucks.

Since I got the 100% Bright Futures FL State Scholarship.. I get 100% free tuition and $200 for books.. that'll buy maybe two of them lol. But I can't complain, no tuition //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

when i was getting a loan i asked if it would pay for books, they said yes, but they didn't tell me i had to get a deferment and i would get a check in a bout a month, and that check totalled 140 big ones. I wanted to slap the woman at the financial aid office.

So I went to my first class today and the prof so thoughtfully had copied all the books we needed for the class into one soft-back bound book with the course name and number on the front for us to pick up at a Korean kinkos type place. Total cost.. $14.
My second prof didnt go quite so far, but said all the reading was on his website and we could put it on a thumb-drive and have it all printed in a book on our own time.. i expect the cost to be roughly the same.

Beat that USA.

piracy in higher education ftw.
how about in my 4.5 years of college i never spent a dollar on books? book rental policy at my school >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> buying books //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Some of my classes have selected chapters/readings from text books assembled into a custom softback text book for our classes...

Not as cheap as $14... but still like in the $30-40 range which is quite a bit better than this $150+ bullshit...

it was very similar when i studied in university in Sweden as well as in Holland, at the undergraduate as well as graduate level. It seems illegal but one of my professors explained to me that they do have some sort of permission. When i was in undergrad in the US i would sometimes get hit with 500-1000 dollars a semester in books.

I too thought it was strange but considering how expensive Sweden is... i was very happy about that. gave me a tad bit more money for those 10 dollar beers and 12 dollar gallons of gas!!!
