I need a small camera and don't know shit about cameras. I do know what i want. A small camera that takes good pics and can stand up to being carried around the world in my pocket. Oh and it should probably take SD and AA or AAA batteries cards cuz i have a bunch of SD cards and a shit-load of rechargeable batteries.

Looking to spend $200 but could spend more or less if there is sufficient justification.

Once again great collective knowledge found only in the lounge, light up the path to wisdom for this struggling soul.

Most pocket cameras use a rechargable lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery instead of AA/AAAs ...

Personally, I'd recommend the SD870 IS ...

Yes ...
Wide-angle lens, bigger screen, longer zoom, faster processor, optical image stabilization ... It owns the shit out of the SD1000 ...

The SD1000 is still a good choice if you want to save some cash, though ...

i work at CC and the one camera i like the most out of all the small compact ones we have is the sony dsc-w150. its small and compact but has a nice big lens vs the tiny lenses you see on most compact cameras and it takes great pictures. im thinking about picking one up.

i got my 570is for less than $200 open box. has manual settings so you can play with if you wanted to start getting into that sort of thing. id reccomend anything canon , but im not much of a camera guy so...

But don't all sonys take the sony memory sticks and use a chargeable battery and not AA's?

The one I have now t70 and I one I had before as well as all the ones I have seen did.

i can live with a lith-ion battery, but fuk Sony's proprietary memory.

I already have like 5 1 & 2 gig SD cards..

Yeah, but it's slow and the layout is confusing to use ...
Also, not a fan of the MS Pro Duo cards ...
