Ok so before you tell me to call, i already did and the lady--who barely spoke English--told me i would be fine but i just want to double check with some of you international travelers.
So i applied for my Korean visa and got it in the the mail the other day. The thing that makes me a little nervous is that it is valid for 5/19/08 to 5/19/09. I plan on leaving 8/13/08 and returning sometime in June or July of 09. The final entry date for the visa is 5/19/09 and its valid for a 1 year stay.
So I'm wondering if the year starts from my first entry or if starts from the issue date? I know you cannot get a visa extension within Korea, you have to leave the country to get one, and they fine you if you overstay your visa. I'm not sure if my year ends 5/19/09 or if it will end 8/13/09 (1 year from when i get to korea).
The lady i could barely understand at the Korean consulate made it sound like i would be ok... but I'm a little nervous.
Anyone with international travel experience want to comment?
