So i went to Taco Bell yesterday, to experience the best that Mexico has to offer at a super discount price right here in the United States.
I had previously thought that Taco Bell was a fine establishment committed to serving a quality product at a price i can afford.
Well yesterday I went to Taco Bell and everything started out normal. I ordered my usually, three crunch taco supremes with no tomatoes and a Mt Dew.
Shortly after i ordered is when things went horribly wrong. As i was waiting for my food i noticed that the person back their making my Tacos wasn't wearing gloves! I was horrified as i witnessed this slack jawed moron using his dirty *** fingers to insert the lettuce and cheese into what were supposed to be my delicious tacos.
Well as you can image i promptly said "hey bud, you aren't wearing any gloves", and the chubby little man scurried out of view and came back wearing some gloves. While this move might have placated the average Taco Bell customer, i certainly wasn't going to ingest anything that this tubby little man had made after i insulted the job he was doing for minimum wage.
So after this i said "hey i dont want any food just give me a refund", to which he ignored and pretended he couldn't hear me while continuing to make my food. Well that didn't work out well for him, because then i screamed in a crowded restaurant "you weren't wearing gloves and i dont want to eat this food! Give me my money back!".
Well that got his attention and he waddled over to the register to process my refund. THats when i noticed that he was wearing a managers name tag.
This was the last straw. I was appalled that this was the leadership style at Taco Bell. I might have expected a 16 year old high school drop out to forget to put gloves on once in a while, but i could not accept that a manger would make this mistake. That certainly isn't the way to set a good example.
So after getting my refund, i immediately called the 1-800 number and complained to the Taco Bell corporate office. Their initial response was that not all states require employees to wear gloves. That certainly wasn't a reassuring answer, but i assured them that my state indeed was one that required gloves hands for any food product that would eaten without being heated to 165 degrees.
I'm just really upset that i cant get PERFECT food at insanely cheap prices!! What lesson am i to take from this? THat excellent service doesn't accompany a $.89 cent taco!
I'm just sure i can live in a world where i cant get ultra cheap and perfect food with excellent service.
