good sunglasses are a necessity. Especially where you drive as much as i do. These ones really arent dark enough and i pretty much know i need another really dark pair.
I'm tellin ya...aviators. I can look into the direction of the sun (driving east in the morning or west in the late day) and see perfectly fine. They're really cheap too...if you break them - who cares.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting but i finally got some new shades. As you probably know i had some difficulty getting prescription shades, so i finally just said fuk it and went back to contacts, for the summer at least. I just couldn't see spending $500 for regular glasses and $500 for prescription sunglasses that i didn't really like, so instead i just got some sweet *** non-prescription sunglasses.
What do you think?

I think i look pretty cool.

I would so **** this mug.

So i took an internship with a presidential candidate. Its nothing big really, they just wanted a representative on campus that would organize some shit like voter registration tables and events. I figured it would be easy and they offered money so I figured why not?
Well i decided it would be best to just work with an established club on campus based on political party (college republicans or college democrats). I figured they probably had shit together and i could just latch onto them for most of what was expected of me. Well i was wrong and the group was a completely dysfunctional and ineffective. There were a few people who are willing to act when called upon, but they had no money and weren't organized for shit.

So i basically just took that shit over. I arranged for new faculty sponsorship by professors that i knew i could count on. I moved the meeting times, because for some reaosn they met Thursday nights at 8pm, which is prime drinking time. I moved the meetings to noon and 5pm and got enough donations to cover the cost of providing pizza. THat instantly helped attendance significantly, and thanks to the new faculty leadership we were finally getting shit done.

So we decide on a date for the registration table and a day to take people to vote early in the primary. The plan was to have a registration drive and then 10 days later to take people to vote in the primary ten days later. I knew I had the van rentals covered, but i wasn't sure where i was going to get the money to have a campus wide BBQ.

Well today i went down to the county auditor's office to get the voter registration packets and they already had some ballots sitting out. I noticed something interesting-- there are three candidates in a primary election for two house seats.

Considering the local politicians hadn't been willing to provide any resources and pretty much only seemed interested in what we could do for them, i decided to call up the district's senator, who is NOT up for re-election, and see what i could do to rectify this one sided relationship.

It was kindly explained to the senator what we were planning, a voter registration drive, and transportation to the polls, but that we had no money for the BBQ. He was informed that we had decided to only provide literature and information for two of the three candidates (remember this is a primary and they are all from the same party) and we were going to ask two of the three for a donation to cover the cost of a BBQ.

This is small town politics in a small state. The amount of votes cast in the primary will be low and every little bit actually makes a difference. I believe that registering kids to vote and arranging for transportation to the polls, combined with free food and control of what literature is provided could certainly be of some value.

Apparently the senator agreed with my assessment, because he said that it was a great idea. He suggested two candidates we should contact and said that he would put in a third of the funds. He also mentioned that if they had seemed hesitant about donating for our BBQ, we should contact him again so he could ensure that they fully understood what a worthy cause we were attempting to undertake.

Not bad for two weeks and two meetings huh?
I'm am going for the ABO method for this election... Anyone but Obama!

it's all about the assistance package.
that's really my entire goal.
Hopefully, I will get to TA for my MBA....but I am thinking I might be tired of Finance by then. It's getting less repetitive and more difficult on the graduate level....But it sucks spending 20 minutes in calculations to to make $75 risk free if you had a billion dollars or some non-sense.

The whole purpose for the MA is so I am a better prospective student for UGA. I am still going to apply to Cornell and Dartmouth. I won't get in...but at least I can try.

In my dream world i would get a full package at some prestigious school in a cool international place. Like a program in English over in Europe or new Zealand.

Most likely i will just end up somewhere in the states, but a nerd can dream.

Especially a nerd with two publications, a presidential campaign internship (should be a great letter of ref), a 3.925, a study abroad (hopefully), a couple writing awards (with cash prizes), and a two faculty nominated and awarded scholarships.

Don't think i mentioned those, but i was nominated by professors in both departments in which i major for scholarships in which the whole department votes on a winner. I got one for each major. Supposedly non-athletic scholarships that you cant apply for look really good if you get them.
