Those of you whining seem to fail to realize this site has no admin pretty much, we have some mods who do a good job some who don't but it is really limited to the powers Goob gives them. If you really want to make a change go ask your rich mommy and daddy for a couple mill and ask goob if you can buy the forum from him.

Personally I think the forum is fine, only thing I really think needs changing is the bullshit outside of the lounge such as when someone asks a serious question and gets abunch of BS responses. Other than that I think the forum is fine, granted geared to a more mature audience who would want to put up with some tightass forum where you can't relax and have to walk on eggshells.

The last month plus has been way crazy in the Lounge. I guess I'm just not interested in much of the shenanigans like painting myself black and going to KFC for pictures....or showing pictures of my genitals. Stuff like that was funny to me maybe at the beginning of high school, at the latest.....
A lot of people say "The lounge is the lounge...it is made to be off-topic" (*cough* IamDeMan)but all this garbage spills over into the audio sections and the classifieds. There is a reason people have a distaste for this site and it's not just because of the OT section. Mind you, they can take it or leave it....

Totally agree , I have no idea how or when this forum turned for the worse, but surely it has considering a few well known members actually LEFT (Rangerman, etc...)
The truth is the lounge plays just as an important role to our reputation as any other section. I think its a chain reaction as follows:

• Stupid posts/threads in lounge
  
• Sets reputation of CA.com as a clown house
  
• Knowledgeable members therefore refuse to post any of their knowledge or even join
  
• We get the rejects from other forums, diminishing the knowledge in other sections
  

GOOD car audio discussions are RARE these days. Seems most of the threads are about which subwoofer/speaker/etc is better, why eDuh sucks, or trying to convince a ignorant member something very basic.

There are virtually no posts involving:

• Tuning
  
• Speaker positioning
  
• Sound stage

Then wouldn't you be part of the problem? Those questions are the ones that all people ask when they are getting started. Are you suggesting a forum where everyone already knows all the answers? That would be a grave yard.

i remember the good old days in this forum before things really went to shit and before all the good members were driven off. I'm talking back when this site was still a site about car audio. I'm getting really tired of all the BS that goes on around here. I know i cant be the only one who remembers how this place used to be like before all this nonsense and such.

It's easy to see how this place is going down the drain.. when helping others and improving the forum looked down upon.

The place needs the insaneness, otherwise we would be just another lame *** site with a couple dozen posts a day.

How many times do you think we can bear hearing the same person recommend an ID sub without something to lighten up the day?

I've seen better forums and I've seen worse forums but to tell you the truth I haven't seen too many as lively as this site. It's entertaining to say the least!
Everyone has their "good old days" stuff and since I'm 52 I have more than most..LOL! The one constant is change as old members drift off, new ones come in, dynamics change, people reminisce and next thing you know, history has repeated itself. 2008 will look like the good old days in 2012. The cast of characters will change but the beat goes on.

To say that this site is either as good as it could be or as enjoyable as it could be would be a blatant lie.

What it says it that people will always b!tch about the present not being as good as the good all days and it goes to prove that was true of this site when it was just a baby. It's true of not just this site, but of what you will see in every aspect of your life.
