Nope. On my mortgage, the mineral owners of my property were anonomous. If I wanted to find out who they were, I would have to go to the county and do a search.
Again, have you ever bought a house?

Another thing that caused me concern when I bought my properties, were easements. Meaning certain people have access right to my property in perpituity.

I was like WTF? Companies such as electric, gas, cable, etc. I understood, but legally there wasn't anything I could do if they wanted to have a sit down in my frontyard.
can you explain this to me? i have never bought a house, so none of this has concerned me yet.

Even if Exxon owns the mineral rights you do not have to "give up" your land. You still own it just as you always have. However, in short: mineral rights > surface rights.
You are exactly right! Finally someone understands. Exxon would just own the oil underneath. They would still have to pay for the right (to you) to mine it out of the surface (plant a pump on your backyard).

I swear, no one listened to Titor when he was with us. Everything will become more localized, just like the infancy of this nation. Local governments will take back control and bartering of services/food/ and money will be prevalent. There will be no need to drive great distances for work. You will be force to do some task that benefits the community you are in. If you guys don't heed the warning he gave then you will all be ill-prepared after the civil war.

n00bs.

But if they paid 10 owners ago, they still own it.

What I am saying is here, no one has bought it....probably because there is not much oil in TN. There is in some places but not much.

what a bunch of bs. i guess since im only 22, this is harder to just swallow, but this shit pisses me off.

maybe iamdeman was right, when you are young you get pissed off easily at all the ****ed up shit, and then when you get older you just realize its not worth your time to argue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

im pretty sure we'd be a lot healthier in the long run too lol. but where exactly would we grow enough food to feed our families? especially the ones that live in apts?
Once again, nothing you mention isn't without choice, you just don't like the choice. People used to live without cars, PCs, other tech before and they would adapt to it again if forced too.

who said i didnt like the choice? honestly look outside, and tell me where you would grow? there really isnt a lot of farmable land that actually has soil that will grow a decent crop
