tiny, secular private pre-k through 12

now at a public university

The private education gave me an extremely strong foundation in the traditional sense, but it did not provide the type of necessary human interaction that a public school would have provided.

public ftw. i work daycare at a private christian school. a little TOO conservative for me. but the people are so freakin nice, and my boss is great. oh theres also a lot of food too.

I attended public school k-12. In my highschool of almost 3000 i believe, i did like jack crap the 4 years i was there. Took like all cp (college prep) classes mostly and did like no homework in 4 years, no studying, not much of anything really. Graduated with a 3.0ish or so GPA. Went to a technical college for 1 semester and said screw this, and dropped out.

School is not for me, nor will it ever be. My mom on the other hand is into her late 30's and just now finishing school. She has a PhD in education. How that women did that much work and obtained one with me constantly annoying her i will never know. Incase you guys don't know she had to write a book bigger then a freakin dictionary to obtain that degree among many other things.

I think i turned out just fine going to a public school. Now i know my one sister went to a private school for like lower grades and like every book had jesus stuff all over it, and all they did was stuff relating to jesus and take field trips to chuck-e-cheese. I would never goto a freakin private school with them religious nuts.

Unequal Burden: Income and Racial Disparities in Subprime Lending in America (April 2000)

HUD has released a study showing that the number of subprime home loans is skyrocketing in predominantly black neighborhoods and low-income neighborhoods. While expanded access to credit is critical, there is growing evidence that some lenders may be engaged in predatory lending that is making homeownership far more costly for blacks and poor families than for whites and middle-class families.

The study - Unequal Burden: Income and Racial Disparities in Subprime Lending in America - at the start of the meeting of a new Predatory Lending Task Force, and announced that Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers will join him as co-chair of the Task Force.

Key findings of the Department of Housing and Urban Development analysis show that: 1) From 1993 to 1998, the number of subprime refinancing loans increased ten-fold. 2) Subprime loans are three times more likely in low income neighborhoods than in high-income neighborhoods. 3) Subprime loans are five times more likely in black neighborhoods than in white neighborhoods. 4) Homeowners in high-income black areas are twice as likely as homeowners in low-income white areas to have subprime loans.
Think this is related to the current mortgage crisis?

THis was forwarded to me:

We are once again enlisting your help to find students from your schools who we can invite to this year's Governor's Economic Development Conference.

Would it be possible for you to share with us the names and email contact information for the students you believe would be interested in attending the April conference?

All conference fees, including meals, are being waived for students, and there will be a special drawing/give away for students only. Last year we gave away an iPod. This year's gift has not yet been decided.

The conference is April 8 and 9. On the 8th there is a networking reception in the early evening and then the actual conference takes place on the 9th beginning at 8am and ending with an evening banquet at which Governor Rounds speaks.

Thank you for helping us offer this experience to your students.
Should i go?

It will probably be boring, but it does involve free food...
