So i was at work, working with this girl whose mom also works in the facility. She was bored and since her mom is the one who supposedly handles the grievances she decided to make up a fake one and turn it in. It was in her own handwriting and there was never any intent to hide who it was from. She just thought it would be funny.
So anyways, on to the interesting part. I pretty much dictated the letter to her, and it was typical of something i would post here. Since i don't have a copy i cant really post it in its entirety, but i can give you some general highlights.
It said it was unfair to only give the administrator and maintenance department reserved parking spots. I said that i was under the impression that all departments were to be treated equally. This was a direct reference to the reason they gave my supervisor as to why she wasn't allowed to buy birthday cakes for her supervisees, with her own money; it wasn't fair to people in other departments and everyone had to be treated equally.
The current parking situation won't be tolerated, as it is clearly a method of control designed to enforce the social hierarchy of the facility.
Next it said that we would no longer take the soul crushing, quasi-professional, system of pseudo-slavery in stride. Never again would be so readily eat sugar from the blood stained hands of our tyrannical leaders by accepting cheap jackets, tiny freezers, and Chinese pizza ovens (direct reference to the door prizes at the Christmas party).
There was a part about the needing to overcome the capitalist pigs who profit from our pain and sorrows. I seem to remember a section noting February, black history month, as marking a time for the oppressed to overthrow the hegemonic autocrat leaders who keep us trapped in their system of financial manipulation and modern day indentured servitude.
The end carried a warning, that if these demands weren't met, they would feel the wrath of unionized revolution and their families would pay...
The last part, the veiled threat to families, would have been really funny if the person reading the letter would have been the mother of the person who wrote the letter. However, the administrator came in on her day off and opened the sealed grievance envelope, breaking policy, as only the social worker is to read these supposedly anonymous and confidential complaints.
Well the I don't think the administrator liked the letter very much. She called the social worker at 6pm, on a Sunday, and asked her to come in. She instantly recognized her daughters handwriting. For some reason, with her boss standing right there, she decided to pretend it wasn't a really funny joke. She pretty much just said that they were going to take this serious and it wasn't funny at all. It was the end of my shift so i just went home.
Not sure how it will turn out, but i will surely update everyone.
Think i will get fired?
Just in case you are wondering, it wont really matter to me if i get fired. I only work one day a week anyways.
