18 year olds fresh off the farm, inner city kids shipped in to play on sports teams, raging hormones, tons of alcohol, and concealed weapons just doesn't sound like a good mix to me.

Some kid thats being picked on by everyone is going to school with an automatic weapon and raise hell. Well, not in TN as you can't be in HS past 21, and you must be 21 to own a hand gun.

Federal law says that you have to be 21 to buy from an FFL, but only 18 to own or purchase from a private party. TN may be different though.

We're allowed to have guns on campus here, just not in our possession. We go check them in at the public security office, and can retrieve them whenever. We're just not allowed to store them in our room.

That is how our school is too. However most people just keep them in their rooms. The school would have a shit fit if they really knew how many guns and how much ammo is in the dorms.

The only people that would be allowed to carry on campus is people with permits to carry, which is the same people that are carrying everywhere else. Every restaurant, gas station, mall, movie theater, etc could have someone carrying a pistol. You haven't seen any mass murders from them yet have you?

There are more sane people than insane people. The majority of people aren't going to start shooting up classrooms and cappin people just because they are allowed to bring guns on school. If you have a license to carry a weapon then why shouldn't you be allowed? Maybe if some of the other kids on Virginia Tech's campus had guns somebody would have put that psycho down a lot earlier before he killed all the people he did.

What's the harm in that? Nothing. I go to Georgetown College in Kentucky, and granted we are a private school, we aren't allowed to have guns of any kind on campus, or bows either. Lots of kids here hunt and what not, but we can't even have airsoft guns on campus. I think we should be able to keep guns on campus so long as we register with Campus Safety and keep them locked up in a school gun safe, and no handguns on campus.

I was talking about people with permits to carry. Did any of those people have permits to carry?

Find me a link where someone with a permit went on a shooting spree. I know there has been someone with a ccw that has shot someone illegally, but its such a small percentage that it isn't even worth debating.

THANK YOU! It is our right as a citizen of this country to be allowed to carry a weapon if we so choose, and as long as we do it lawfully. (ie, getting a concealed license, etc.)
