You know that I am apathetic to their situation.
I can't say that all people who are poor are a result of their environment.

Bad decisions can be made on their behalf and they can be living wrong.

As time has gone on though there has been less room to make mistakes. If you look at credit agencies they charge the poorest people the most interest. These people can barely afford to make ends meet.

Just look at the cost of food and healthcare/insurance alone.

A trip to the doctor is $80 or more.

Orange juice is $4.50 for a gallon man.

If you are poor enough, the govt provides subsidies.

I would say your example effects middle class moreso than the poor.

Why shouldn't the steel workers have to compete with steel workers in other countries trying to accomplish the same thing?
That's not the point I'm trying to make.

The point I'm trying to make is that the quality of living in America is dropping as a result of certain things that are going on right now.

When we send out all of our industry to other countries it brings us down. We import most of our goods anymore.

Even 20-30 years ago you would be hard pressed to find things that were made out of country, now you can't find anything made in the USA.

This sends our jobs and our money overseas. We become dependent on the countries. We sometimes become allies with the countries and get involved in their conflicts.

If you look at it the retail industry has some of the highest profits of any industry in the States.

Where does all the retail stuff come from?

What are they paying their workers?

Where is all the money going to?

Can you not see the void?

The government provides subsidies.

Who do they tax in order to get the money to pay out these subsidies?

Who do these taxes affect most?

It is up to the poor to reskill into a more capital intensive industries. I think the govt should help with this...but I do not think the govt should impose restrictions on cheap consumer goods like clothes. If you protect those workers, it increases the price on other middle class consumers...lowering their purchasing power.

I think that at some point the government should intervene also. You have to be ignorant to believe that they would though.

Who's lining the politicians pocket?

Not the folks who can't afford to get by.

That seems to be the going trend any more though.

They tax investors like me 3 or 4 times on the same money.
You must not of had the right perspective on the question.

I would think that the 100 or so dollars that the poorer folks get taxed would mean more to them than what you are getting taxed on your investments.

Unless it hurts your pride to see the government take your money.

If the taxes you are getting on your money are hurting you in a way where you are going broke you're obviously in the wrong business anyways.

McCain took FL, and is ahead in two of the most important states for him on super tuesday (ny and ca)... if McCain takes the nomination, i believe his views on the war will ultimately cost him the general election no matter who the dems run.

Also, i do not believe that he will be able to turn out the GOP base, and like i said, he wont get many independent voters with his views on the war...

we just might have a darky or a bish in the White house!!

I can probably deal with Obama.
But please not Hilary..
AMEN To that.

The United States isn't ready for a woman president. Neither is the rest of the world. Alot of countries see women as inferior. Think of how they would view the US if we had a woman president....
