Northern Michigan is just as deserted as South Dakota, except we have trees and lakes and shit, and you are only a couple hours from a major city. I ended up having to drive 500 miles aweek just for work and school.

I would imagine it could drive some people insane.

But it hasn't really bothered me so far. I'm sort of a loner, as evidenced by my lack of participation in the threads frequented by the regulars (like CT). In all honesty i prefer social interaction on my terms, and only when i initiate it. Otherwise i like being left the fuk alone.

Nonetheless, it is getting old, having been here for a couple of years, but i'm going to finish my undergrad before i move. If i really hated it i wouldnt have stayed this long and i wouldnt stay until i graduate. I just get bored and need change regardless of the location.

there is a city of 100,000 only 3.5 hours from me and i think fargo is like 5 hours or some shit.

Minneapolis is like 7-8 hours and denver is like 15.

I'm about 3 hours from Detroit which is roughly 1 million, but once you get north of Saginaw, it is pretty much all forest. I can't stand being in the middle of nowhere. I was born and raised in the city and I'll be moving to some city soon.
