I'm running an X2 4800 2gb of ram raptor drive and a 7900GT KO edition.

Vista sucked for me.

It is great for my parents because it really helps you to do everything. But if you do more than word docs, and the internet vista just isn't ready yet.

My video card wasn't supported by Nvidia, my system was (on average 20% slower).

It has some great features, but just not my cup of tea (at least not yet).

i never get integrated graphics.
I am in no way an expert, but i believe that vista should probably have its own gpu if you want to have a good experience with all the eye candy turned on.

I am actually doing this to get a copy of vista for my other laptop because XP sucks after using vista.

I had no driver issues or anything because the laptop was always vista and well supported before i bought it.

vista for me, works at 512MB, its little slow, but fine for me. i plan on upgrading my RAM anyway.

Thats a very true and valid point. However, since this is the only upgrade of windows released in 6 years or more (when did XP come out?), did people have much of a choice to upgrade? No. Other computer related products have newer better products to choose from, whereas Windows did not.

They released XP in October 2001. But to be fair, operating systems come out on a much slower basis then most other computer software and hardware. I think. Am i right?
