If you look at the structure of our federal government you will see that it is pretty much set up to encourage a two party system and would get even less done if without political parties.

for good god. i wish people would think like this.
people base votes on party affiliation because, as ive said a million times, they are sheeple. they want to feel like they are part of the club.

ill give this example for the 1000th time. i knew a guy, who said he votes for the most popular candidate that has the biggest chance of winning. i asked him why. and he told me "so when people ask me who i voted for i can say i voted for the guy that won. you dont want to be the guy that voted for the loser"

that guy is an idiot, but politicians sway towards their party almost every time. it's almost useless to vote for a person over a party. it sucks, but it's reality.

except that we wouldn't have made it this far as a nation and would have fragmented into many smaller nations long ago, probably frequently at war with one another.

I believe nations that are too large become unresponsive to the needs of the people.

While our nation was originally supposed to be individual states all tied together by a loose federal structure which would have kept that responsiveness towards their own citizens, that is no longer the case in the US with the current governmental structure of the Federal government's power superceeding that of the states.

Except for that if North America was composed of many small nations at least one of them would turned into a dictatorship by now and most likely would have attacked other nations emerging the continent into bloody warfare such as is frequently found in Europe.

Uh the founding fathers decided that the articles of confederation didn't give enough power to the federal government and purposely set up a system giving sovereignty to the federal government. They were also careful not to give the federal government too much power by creating proportional representation in the lower house, equal representation in the upper house and what is traditionally referred to as the 'checks and balances'

independent. I get to vote this election.
I'm open to voting either way (dem or rep) but if Hillary is the dem then it has to be the rep no matter who it is.

I like Barrack and McCain.

I find it funny how people think Barrack is inexperienced and Hilary is experienced. Hilary got into the senate in 2000, barack has been in some sort of elected office since 1996. So barrack is actually more experienced.

i will not vote for her. No matter what.
indeed I will never vote for that bitch
