Washington could go to the GOP quite easily.
All it would really take is a popular GOP candidate and a third party liberal candidate to **** off votes.

The eastern half of the state is solidly GOP and Seattle has such wealth it's probably only a matter of time before all those rich hippies wise up and figure out how much they are paying in taxes.

the only reason christine gregore won the governers election is because of king and snohomish county. Almost every other county voted for dino rossi.

And in those two counties, the democrats rule.

It doesn't matter that the eastern half of the state is completely GOP because they make up like 20% of the population.

God bless the electoral system right?

and seattle does not have "such wealth". If you've ever lived in washington (recently) you would understand that.

They have the worst public schooling, horrible roads, and no money. We have the highest gas tax in the country and we can't even get 60% of the 10th graders to pass a standardized math test. The teachers get paid didly squat and the schools are almost 100 years old and falling apart.

The alaskan way viaduct (a major road along the seattle waterfront) is so old that studies have said that if theres an big earthquake it will just crumble and fall into the waterfront.

I agree faulkton, giving up your rights for an ipod is ridiculous. However for a million dollars, I wouldn't mind not voting for an election, or voting for somebody. As long as their not a commy, and they don't want to nuke everyone or anything, I wouldn't mind.

Lots of people could use that sort of cash.

Study says King County has 68,000 millionaires

By Seattletimes.com staff

A London-based market-research company, TNS Global, says King County now has 68,000 millionaires.

That places it number 10 in the country in millionaire residents. TNS defines millionaires as people with a net worth of $1 million or more, excluding their primary residences.

CNN Money has a photo-gallery of the top 10 counties.

The TNS report says U.S. millionaires last year numbered 9.3 million, a 5 percent increase over the year before.

Los Angeles County had more millionaires than any other, 268,136, and California had four of the top 10 counties.

According to TNS, King County, which according to Census estimates accounts for about 29 percent of the state's population, had 33 percent of Washington's millionaires. This suggests that the state has about 204,000 millionaires, or 3.2 percent of the 6.3 million residents.

It was King County's first appearance on the top 10 list. It displaced Middlesex County, Mass.

CNN Money also has aerial photos of the mansions of eight of America's richest people, including Bill Gates and Paul Allen, based on information from Zillow.com.

There is plenty of money in seattle.

The schools have always sucked, the roads have always sucked, and the infrastructure in general has always sucked. Maybe the tide is turning and enough people will tired of democratic rule to make the difference. To use your example, look at how well Rossi did in the rest of the State.

saw that on the news yesterday night....
kinda pissed me off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
It shouldn't.

It provides insight into how an avergage american feels about the election process. Their voices aren't being heard so they feel frustrated. And when if the do come out in drives to vote how they want, Congress won't do it anyway.

i doubt many of those kids polled had ever voted...

it's not cause they aren't being heard, its because they don't care, and don't see the significance of it.
