Faulkton, you are hiliarious man.
Most older 5 speed hondas have shi*t as a transmission. My integra needed a full rebuild at 120k (which is not uncommon btw). The AC went out at 150k, and the power steering at 160k. I loved the car..still do, but stuff was falling apart bad. On top of that the sound of the engine and road penetrated whatever insulation was there. Overall i liked it...but it is in no way superior to other cars. My 93 thunderbird i had had absolutely no problems other than the recalled head gasket. My family's Chevy S10 4 wheel drive has rounded 200k. Id think that these companys should get more credit.

I'm from Michigan also, and Detroit is like a Industrial ghost town. I guess all them years of being forced by unions to pay people who stamp body panels 25$ a hour caught up to them.

Also alot of the cars most people think are foreign are really owned by Ford or GM.

FORD owns Volvo, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover

GM owns Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, Saab, and Cadillac.
Detroit's problems was Colemen A. Young. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

150k without an oil change > j0o

to anyone that is taking faulkton seriously:

relax...hes ****ing around. you have fallen pray to the faulk...as have i many a times.

as for going 150k without a oil change i highly doubt that. i have seen the numbers and an engine with the same oil sitting in it will shear itself to death before 40k....

stop driving like a mary;)

for real though America makes some silly cars. Z06, SHELBY, FORD GT, STS-V, VIPER, GTO, new release of the CAMARO and even better CHALLENGER. And the prices are right.

Add to the fact Dodge was first? to produce turbo 4 bangers back in like 1988.

Yes I know about the faulk. I just had to reply. I dismissed the 150k without fresh oil as BS very quickly.

I'm not hip so is silly a good thing or a bad thing here?

You're right. It is unbelievable and simply not true. Maybe you had a problem with your vehicle but by and large this isn't the case across the board anymore. According to vision and JD surveys/awards. GM has less problems per 100 vehicles made than Nissan. The only Asian company beating them on this was Toyota/Lexus which is of no surprise but even their lead is by a slim margin. BMW has more problems per 100 than Nissan, so there goes the German engineered superiority. The main problem with GM and Ford that I can't argue against is that they aren't making cars people WANT to buy. That has been dictated by market sales in an obvious way. However hogwash statements on reliability and maintenance are BS anymore and stem from the late 80s to early 90s when the American companies were severely under these foreign makers in problems per 100. Today with globalization, cross platforming and tech sharing, this broad statement you made holds no water.
And there in lies their problem.

Being 29 Ford has few vehicles I like, Mustang, F-series and their SUVs and GM has their trucks and SUV's but after that ther is 0. I do not want a Taurus or fvcking Fusion. While they are good cars their styling(and stigma of owning a Taurus)leave a lot to be desired.

Ford should be able to come up with something like a G35-G37, BMW 3-5 Series and Mercedes C-E class but they refuse to do so. Knowing that is what most successful people in the ages 25-40 want or buy.

What about those that are not as successful?

I make ~50k per year and with a 400k house I know I cannot afford a BMW 3 series. I currently drive an 03 Pontiac Grand am and just now looking at a Civic SI or Cobalt SS/SC. They are both less then 25k CND.

We work as a team, but he is a bit better at it than myself.

You should see us "argue"....it's quite amusing to see the newbs try to battle when they don't even know what side we are on.
