Honestly, I've always thought the same thing. Most "colored" people are technically just American...not african american...seeing as how they did not come from africa in their own lifetime.
With this being so, I've always thought of the term african american racist in it's own way. It segregates a whole group of people based on the color of their skin. I don't go around calling all white people european americans or people of asian descent asian americans.

considering the fact that the orginization was started in 1909 i would think so. Also what other choices did they have besides black,******s, darkie to use in the organization naming. They didn't have to many non degrading choices of terms to refer to.

No, no, no. Not at all man. I'm not saying you're not african descent, but usually when you refer to someone as half one type of person and one half the other, it is generally refers to yourself or your parents who is half/half.
