We used to have a bunch of dog walkers that would let their dogs shit in anyone's yard, and they wouldn't pick it up. A neighbor in our cul-de-sac found a bunch of signs that said something to the effect of, " We don't crap in your yard, please don't let your dog crap in ours."

After the signs and yelling at the walkers as they passed stopped the problem.
