Not -30, but got down to -10 and with the windchill I dont know, maybe -15to-17? Anyway, I have a question for you Faulkton. How did you get your pipes unfrozen? I am having the same problem, but is just with my kitchen sink. All the other pipes are fine. I opened up the kitchen cabinets to let some warm air in there, but still dont work. Any help would be much appreciated. Also I know a couple tricks, like use a blow dryer, just dont feel like sitting there for two hours to get them to run. All I know is washing dishes in the tub sucks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Buy those cheap little space heaters from Wally World that has a fan on it. At least you dont have to sit there but if you have children or pets you might block it off.

we used to have a closet full of rubbing alcohol, and we'd pour it down the drains every few hours or so. :fyi:Alcohol doesn't freeze.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It was about 5 with 15 mph winds last night, and I built a sub box outside and installed it, lets just say that by the end of that I did some ghetto rigging that will have to wait until I can get into a heaed garage or spring.

its not the drains that causes the problems.. its the water pipes.. if they freeze solid (like the entire house) it will break the pipes and then cause quite a mess when it thaws out..

my pipes freeze right at the bottom of the wall, in the basement, where the pipe comes in from the street.. i just used a torch to warm the pipe up.. you could try a space heater.
Yeah I have been told that, then my dad said not to do that, cause if it leaks and gets anywhere near the space heater, I will have a real mess on my hands.

I am gonna borrow his heating gun and use it tonight. I hope that will work and go from there.
