if by social services, you mean government jobs like social security office work or something......working your way up gets you a ways beyond "middle class". My dad has been working there....20+ years of course, but he makes 110k a year in doing so. Started right out of college, and has been going ever since.transfer and get a MSW.
eventually get some low paying state government job in a social services agency.
Can work anywhere, good benefits/retirement and easy.
