I have only had one professor in 4 years take attendance. Most professors don't care whether you are there or not. If you are not present, there is no way to pass. If you fail, who cares. I have a finance class with a 70% failure rate. My banking class has about a 60% failure rate, but it is taught by a former federal reserve bank of atlanta president.
